Missions at Union Presbyterian Church in 2008
I. Union supports The Crossroads Pregnancy Services of Monroeville, PA. The congregation participates in the Baby Bottle Campaign. Members and friends of Union are invited to fill a plastic baby bottle with loose change. To date (June 1, 2008), a total of $266.08 has been received. II. Union supports Scripture distribution. The 2008 Bible School was held in April and May of 2008. A luncheon was offered after worship on the last Sunday. An offering plate was left on the lunch table for the purpose of collecting funds to sponsor a mission project. The project selected was the distribution of picture Bibles to those unable to read living in Brazil. A total of $229.72 was received for this purpose.
III. Union supports the First Fruits Project of Redstone Presbytery. For the year 2008, Union has pledged $1,500 to support work and ministry of Redstone Presbytery. The First Fruits Project replaces the old system of per capita. Redstone no longer requires churches to give based on a per capita system. IV. Union supports The Plum Food Bank by sending workers to assist in the operation of the food bank. Also, Union supports the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank by sending workers quarterly to pack food boxes. For more information see: www.pittsburghfoodbank.org
V. Union church support local families in need of assistance through the work of the deacons of Union Church. In addition, the deacons provide funeral luncheons for members and friends who have lost a loved one.

VII. Union Church supports the work and ministry of Gideon International. The Gideons distribute Bibles to hospitals, prisons, dental offices, hotels and motels in the U.S. and around the world. For more information go to:
